What drives the rate
Theme customisation, Liquid templates, app integration, checkout and product-page work, and the speed fixes that decide whether a store converts on mobile. What separates a strong hire from an adequate one: They understand that a store is a conversion surface, not a portfolio piece — they will push back on a hero video that adds two seconds to load. Average ones ship pretty and slow. AI-durability of the role: medium — parts of the workflow are automating; the judgment layer is not. Medium. Liquid snippets and app glue compress; diagnosing a slow, app-bloated live store does not.
