Run one real role, start to finish, for as long as you like — post it, share the link, take unlimited applicants, read their answers, score them against your own conditions and hire someone. It is not a trial that expires and it does not ask for a card. The paid plans exist for running several roles at the same time, which is the thing the free plan will not do.

No, and no. You pay for the plan and nothing else — the number of people who apply does not change the price, and we take nothing from what you pay the person you hire. Candidates are never charged anything either, ever. That is a separate promise and it is on the candidate protection page.

The questions arrive already written. For 24 common remote roles you get the scenario that separates a capable bookkeeper from a plausible one, plus a work sample you can actually read — not an empty box asking you to invent good screening questions for a job you have never hired for. Type "Bookkeeper" and you get the month-end discrepancy scenario, not "tell us about yourself".

Not always, and we would rather say so. Hirevire started at $39/month when we last checked their site in August 2026 and includes more interviews at each tier than we do. What they do not do is hand you questions already written for the role — theirs is the empty box. If price is the only thing you are comparing, they will win that comparison; if you have never hired a bookkeeper before, the written questions are the part that actually saves you.

On every plan including free, we write you a 30/60/90 plan for that person — built from how you described the role and what they actually said when they applied, not a template — and it appears on their page within about ten minutes. On the paid plans it keeps going: once a month we send one short question to you and one to them, and send you back a read of your own answer with the single most useful thing to do before the next month. Their answer stays between them and us unless they tick a box saying otherwise, which is a promise we keep by never showing it to the model that writes your summary.

Any time, from Stripe, and you drop to the free plan at the end of the period you have paid for. Nothing is deleted when you do — your roles, applicants and their answers stay exactly where they are. You just go back to one open role at a time.

That still exists and it is a different thing entirely: you describe the role, we run the search, and you read three finalists in full before any fee. It is a flat $1,995 rather than a subscription, and it is charged only when you decide you want to meet someone. The details are on the done-for-you page.
